As I write this, I ask myself a question. There is an inner battle inside my head; to publish the creators of The Row, or not. I battled my inner fight to side step the names of the designers. To most fashionista's the names Mary-Kate, and Ashley Olsen, bring to mind more than the child actress' that were a staple on the hit show "Full House". To true fashion fans, we know them, as what they are today. Instead of looking at the long resume of their past experience. For those few that are not familiar with the twins, as what they are, designers.
I find it disheartening when I hear people judge the line before they even view it. Saying things like "what the F do they do?", "They are given everything", and "just another case of star turned designer". Yes many stars are taking the 5min of fame, and turning them into fashion lines. Most of these lines bear the name of the star, but none of the stars original ideas. This could not be farther from the truth with these two. They have created a thriving Empire. Not only did they capitalize on the career they had worked so hard to create as children. They remained hard working through it all. Have you ever seen them stop working? Even for a moment? No. (ok, minus Mary-Kate, and her famous stay in rehab.
The new adventure that the two have created is the fabulous, simple, chic line. It embodies the twins famous style, in a minimalistic way. With rave reviews coming from top fashion publications, I hope others are seeing them as the artists they are. I have no doubt that the M.K., and Ashley will keep there nose to the grindstone for another 24 years. Showing the world that they are a force to be reckoned with.
